Using Conflict and Dissent to Create Robust, Resilient Solutions

When we think through work we primarily focus on the happy path, this only gives us half the picture. When we take time to explore the dark side of work, we can anticipate many of the dangers lurking in wait. There are many ways to explore this dark side and coming out the other side stronger.

WORKSHOP:
Using Conflict and Dissent to Create Robust, Resilient Solutions

We wear rose-colored glasses when planning. Sure, we’re aware of potential challenges and we often give them a voice. But, do we take a comprehensive approach to exploring the unhappy path? This workshop provides an opportunity to experience different ways to do just that. We start with the liberating structure "Making Space with TRIZ" which is a great way to look at the exact opposite of what we want to happen, how it might come to fruition, and how we can stop it. Then we continue with an exercise on metrics called "How Can we Game This?" to explore how measurements can be dangerous, and we end with a powerful exercise called "Ritual Dissent" that gives us a safe way to give feedback on people's ideas to create more robust solutions.

Join Julia in this highly-interactive workshop and learn how to help your team and organization avoid the unhappy path, not by avoidance, but by fearlessly understanding it and taking steps to seal it off.
